Undeterred by Gully Bop's scruffy appearance and his very public falling out with ex-girlfriend, Shauna Chin, US-based artiste A'Mari says she is now head over heels in love with the near-toothless dancehall artiste who she said is a good kisser and lover.

There's more to him than his appearance. He has a soft touch, and while other men would take long for me to climax, when Gully touches me, I instantly reach a climax. It's like fire when he touches my body Amari said.

A'Mari said that people who focus on Gully Bop's appearance, including his lack of teeth, have no idea on how genuine and caring a person he is.

"People don't know that he cries a lot, he breaks down a lot because he is a sensitive person. He cries for the homeless and the poor. He's a good man," she said.

Amari said a lot of people didn't even know that he was sleeping on the floor and I got him an apartment. I couldn't be using him because I have been helping him in the few weeks that we've been together. In fact, we're gonna be moving in together when I get back to Jamaica.

Though her family has not yet been made aware of the relationship, A'mari does not foresee them having a problem with the union. In fact, she believes that Gully Bop is an even better fit than her previous boyfriend, who she says was mistreating her.

"Gully Bop is like a precious gem. At first, I really didn't see him as my type, but now, I feel like our love can last forever. It's unconditional. Gully Bop is my man," she said.

Ironically, A'Mari stated that she has never dated someone from the industry, as they are too scandalous.

Alexia Palmer Jamaican model sues Donald Trump's modelling agency

A United States judge will this month determine whether to proceed with the case brought by Jamaican model Alexia Palmer against Donald Trump's modelling agency, in which she has claimed US$225,000 .

According to a report by Reuters, Palmer, in a suit filed in October 2014, is accusing Trump Model Management LLC, which is owned by the US Republican presidential candidate, of lying to the federal government in its work-visa application that said she would be paid a US$75,000-a-year salary while living in the United States.

Reuters reports that based on court documents, Palmer only received a total of US$3,880.75 during the three years she was under contract with the agency. Palmer alleges “fraudulent misrepresentation” and violations of U.S. immigration and labour laws. 

Lawyers representing Trump have called the case "frivolous" and "without merit." They claim the Jamaican was not an employee and was more than adequately compensated for a “very brief stint as a fashion model,” which they claim amounted to less than 10 days of work over three years.

Buju Banton Signs Deal With US: Gun Charge Dropped, Will Be Release From Prison 2019

Buju Banton has reportedly made a deal with United States prosecutors to remove a pending gun charge and free him in less than four years.

A report published today by the Tampa Bay Times says Banton has agreed to stop filing appeals in exchange for prosecutors dropping the pursuit of a gun charge.

Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, could have faced an additional five years if convicted.

Instead, he will be deported to Jamaica after his scheduled January 2019 release from prison.

The report quotes U.S. Attorney's Office as saying that U.S. District Judge James S. Moody Jr. approved the settlement earlier this week.

Nearly two years ago, Moody threw out a 2011 conviction on the gun count after finding that a juror had inappropriately researched a legal theory relating to the charge.

Banton also wanted the other verdicts to be thrown out but recently, he lost an appeal, and the matter was returned to Tampa.

Banton is serving a 10-year sentence on drug-related charges after he was arrested at his South Florida home in December 2009 and charged with conspiracy to distribute five or more kilogrammes of cocaine.

His arrest followed a sting operation at a Drug Enforcement Agency-controlled warehouse in Tampa, which also resulted in the arrest of James Mack and Ian Thomas, who were attempting to purchase cocaine from undercover agents.

Gully Bop Tours Europe

Gully Bop, who is now in Brussels for the very first time, is still enjoying his newfound fame as his “Rags To Riches Tour” continues. According to Connect International PR, the artiste is to kick off a month-long series of performances throughout Europe, in countries such as Belgium, Switzerland, France, Austria, the Netherlands, Germany, and Norway.

Gully Bop expressed how elated he was about his ongoing “Rags To Riches Tour”. “Me well excited and feel good. So much new places me a reach, and nuff people a see Gully Bop live and in living colour," he said. "Every week me in a different place a perform. Me dreams come true! Long time me a try and want to experience this.”

Last week Gully Bop visited Canada for the first time and reportedly pulled off a number of sold-out shows in Niagara Falls, Toronto and Oshawa. He is slated to return to Canada in August for the annual Jambana One World Festival.

Derrick 'Corey' Edwards From Merital Family Shot And Killed In Montego Bay

Derrick 'Corey' Edwards, part of the dancehall group Merital Family, was shot and killed in Montego Bay, St James, on Thursday night. According to Corporate Communication Unit, the Jamaica Constabulary Force's information arm, the 32-year-old Edwards was shot and killed by unknown assailants as he approached his car in Ironshore, St James.

The police said their investigations are continuing. In addition to Edwards, Merital Family comprised Noel 'Blade Skeemaz' Mason and Trovoy Keneale Bracket. The group rose to fame as part of Vybz Kartel's Portmore Empire with the 2010 single My Money Ha Ha. Their other tracks include Pray, When We Party and Bad Like We. Last year, Brackett was reportedly held with cocaine by American law enforcement officers and is currently serving time in that country.

In 2012, Mason parted ways with the group to focus on a solo career. He remembers his late colleague as a versatile entertainer, who added humour to the group.

Downsounds Dancehall Artiste Toya Dies From Diabetes.

Dancehall artiste Toya, common-law wife of Downsound Records boss Joe Bogdanovich, died in the United States Thursday morning. The Hot Like Fire singer had been off the music scene for some time as she battled complications from diabetes which left her blind.

When Splash contacted Bogdanovich for a comment, he said: "I am not in Jamaica right now, I can't speak." The singer whose given name is Latoya Jackson, is survived by a six-year-old son, Joseph.

A source close to the artiste related that Toya took her illness badly.

"Once she went blind she really just gave up hope. She was in Miami as doctors there were looking for a way to treat her, but she just didn't pull through," said the source who did not wish to be identified.

Toya was one of the outrageous female artistes who emerged in dancehall during the last decade. D'Angel, Spice and Ishawna, another Bogdanovich protégé, have also made their mark with risque songs and costumes.

Bogdanovich has risen in the music industry working with the likes of deejays Harry Toddler and most recently Ninjaman and Ishawna.

Toya was the self-proclaimed 'First Lady' of Downsound which produced most of her songs including Boss Lady and You a Lie. She grabbed attention on stage with her striking looks and saucy stage performances.

Dionne Warwick owes nearly US$10 million in back taxes has filed bankrupt

NEWARK, New Jersey (AP) — Singer Dionne Warwick owes nearly US$10 million in back taxes and has filed for bankruptcy.

In a Chapter 7 petition filed this month in New Jersey, Warwick lists liabilities that include nearly $7 million owed to the Internal Revenue Service for the years 1991 to 1999 and more than $3 million in business taxes owed to the state of California. Warwick lists her current address in South Orange.

The singer of classics such as ‘Walk On By,’ ‘I Say a Little Prayer’ and ‘Do You Know the Way to San Jose’ also lists about $21,000 in monthly income and about the same amount in monthly expenses.

Warwick's publicist says that the singer has paid back the actual amount of the taxes but penalties and interest have accumulated over the years.

Country singer Mindy McCready Dies at 37 commits suicide

Troubled country star Mindy McCready has died at the age of 37, the victim of an apparent suicide.

Arkansas’ Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office posted this report: “At 3:31 PM, Sunday, February 17th Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of gun shots fired in the area of 1132 Fox Chase Drive in Heber Springs. 

Officers arrived on the scene at 3:58 PM and discovered the body of 37 year old Melinda Gayle McCready on the front porch of the residence at 1132 Fox Chase. Ms. McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time family members have been notified of the incident. Ms. Mcready will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated.”

About a month ago, McCready’s boyfriend, David Wilson, passed away and an investigation into his death reportedly is still ongoing. McCready said to NBC about Wilson that “He was my life. We were each other’s life.” She later added “I just keep telling myself that the more suffering that I go through the greater character I’ll have.”

McCready sang on a number of popular country songs including the chart-topping 1996 country hit “Guys Do It All the Time.”

Born in Fort Myers, Florida, her 1996 debut “Ten Thousand Angels” was a double-platinum success, but her popularity on the music chart steadily declined in the years that followed. Her personal life was marred by a series of legal difficulties including pleading guilty for using a fake prescription to buy OxyContin in 2004, violating her probation on another charge in 2008, and a high-profile custody dispute involving her young son in 2011.

McCready appeared in the third season of VH1′s show “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.” Her online bio for the program read “Mindy believes her only true addiction is to violent relationships.”

The refrain for the title song for her debut went “Lead me not into temptation/ Heaven help me to be strong/ I can fight all that I’m feeling/ But I can’t do it alone.”

Writer Jeff Pearlman once quoted McCready as saying she was desperate to leave her early life in Fort Myers behind: “You can’t always ‘get there’ on ambition alone. There has to be something a little stronger. And there’s nothing stronger than a desperate person.”

The last tweet from McCready’s Twitter page, dated Jan. 19, 2012,  reads “Things have been hectic. But I’m still here..”
