Police Warning Stop Circulating Pictures Of Crime Scenes On Social Media.

The Police High Command is warning members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) to immediately stop circulating pictures of crime scenes on social media.
According to the High Command, the practice is unethical and unprofessional and will not be tolerated.
The High Command says it has observed that photos of bodies at crime scenes and other offensive pictures and videos are being posted on social media.
It says crime scenes are normally controlled by JCF members and the release of some photos and videos suggest that JCF members may be responsible.
The High Command says the issue also highlights that members may not be exercising sufficient control over the scenes to prevent unauthorised persons from capturing photos or videos.
The High Command also says the practice is harmful and dehumanising and undermines the dignity of the victims and their families.
It has urged its members to read the JCF's Personal Use of Social Media Policy and Guidelines.
